IDPA
Basic Description: IDPA club match consisting of 4 stages- very basic to quite difficult. Usually a mixture of scenario and standards. Scenario stages are recreations of self-defense events that could or have actually happened. Standards are tests of basic gun handling/tactical skills. Folks are new to IDPA, or who might be checking out our calendar for the first time, should aquaint themselves with our website’s IDPA Program Information, particularly the New Shooter’s Guide.
Cost: $10 for NCRR members and $15 for non-NCRR members. $5 to shoot a second time. You must rotate to the end of the sign-up list when shooting a second time.
Brass: This is a lost brass match.
Start/End Times: Set-up is between 3-3:30 pm and the 1st 7 people that set up shoot for free. No appointment needed. To be flexible we’ll usually take walk-ins up until 9:00 – the matches run as late as 11:00 and close as early as 8:30 sometimes. If you’re coming late you should call NCRR first to see if we’re still taking shooters. 757-488-9861
Basic Requirements: Minimum caliber: 9mm. Semi-Autos: You’ll need at least 3 mags- one in the gun and 2 reloads. Revolvers: Barrel has to be 4.2″ or less. 3 speedloaders or moon clips may be carried. Holsters: No small of back, crossdraw or shoulder holsters allowed. This is all covered in the rulebook- please read it. Ammo: No hollow point or armor piercing allowed. Bring 50 rounds as a bare minimum.
Pre-Requisites: You do not have to be an NCRR or an IDPA member to shoot your 1st match, however if you wish to continue you must join IDPA either at NCRR, online (idpa.com) or over the phone. (870-545-3894). We are a sanctioned club and go by IDPA rules.
